Volunteer Opportunties for Texas Black Expo

Want to earn free tickets and a t-shirt? The Texas Black Expo has some great opportunities for you to get involved in the community!

The Texas Black Expo is currently seeking volunteers to help out at this year's event. This is a great chance to mix and mingle with fellow volunteers of all types. Thanks so much for your support!

Volunteer Needs

• Runner: On the ground and in the middle of the action, Runners are the go-to folks who connect Expo exhibitors and attendees with answers and solutions.
• Greeter: Stationed at key entry-points, Greeters direct exhibitors to their tables, performers to the stage manager, and attendees to the event's many features, attractions and workshops.
• A/V & IT Tech Support: Lighting, sound and wireless networking at the event, and back-end web production prior to the Expo itself.
• Publicity/Promo: Help develop our publicity outreach, interfacing with newspapers, radio stations, web sites and more.
• Street Team: Flyers, posters and the Expo newsletter bring the word to the folks on the ground, and into the heart of our community.
• Writing/Editing: Get great clips and work with a professional editorial team in developing press material, web site text, newsletters and more.
• Stagehand/Gear Wrangler: You are the muscle, tendon and bone of the event. You lift, haul, lug and schlep. Your brawn provides the horsepower that moves the whole community forward.
• Bar/Concession: Hunger and thirst are afflictions. You are the cure. Experience preferred.
• Hospitality: There's a secret back room at the Expo, where participating arts organizations and performers gather for coffee, juice, snacks and quiet conversation. You'll help make sure it all runs smoothly.
• Load-In: Tables must be arranged, chairs unfolded, signage put in place. Gather with us to set the stage for the Expo!
• Load-Out: The day has ended, and a warm glow of accomplishment and community buoys us forward as we push the brooms, fold the chairs and stack the tables. Load-out volunteers occupy a special place in our hearts.
• Driver: Sometimes you can't fit it all on your trunk. Help us haul Expo newspapers, equipment, gear, performers, producers, food and drink ... your four wheels can make it happen.
