What's the problem?
Small businesses are the backbone of strong, sustainable communities—driving job creation, local investment, and economic resilience. Yet, the majority of small businesses fail within their first year due to lack of access to resources, training, and support. When small businesses struggle, entire communities are weakened. Texas Black Expo exists to change that.
What is that causing?
When small businesses fail, communities lose vital jobs, services, and local economic activity. This leads to increased unemployment, reduced community investment, and fewer opportunities for upward mobility. Over time, the cycle of business failure contributes to long-term economic stagnation in underserved areas..
What can be done?
Texas Black Expo’s Building Our Own Marketplace (B.O.O.M) initiative is strategically designed to fund the sustainable development of businesses, job creation, increase financial literacy within underserved communities within underprivileged communities.

This tradeshow is one of the largest small business empowerment festivals in the Southern U.S. and an opportunity for brands to market themselves to a consumption-driven target market with disposable incomes.
